Our theme is ‘Tracing the Roots’. Our life is filled with choices, they play a major role in shaping us as a person. Each decision we make will have an impact, big or small, on us and everything around us. This in some way contributes to shaping us and everything else into into how it is today. As we travel the journey called life, we have come across several crossroads called choices and each time we made our decision of which path to travel. Among all these choices there are some decisions that led us to key turning points in our lives, those which had a major role in making us the person we have become. When we trace back all these paths or roots, we see how they’ve shaped us into who we are today. Hence, tracing the roots is all about a retrospective into the way life is, or could have been.

“By spreading ideas worthy enough to be shared, the power of inspiration and change is created”. A global community striving towards spreading ideas from every discipline and culture, that is TED in a nutshell. It is a non-profit media organisation that helps people get the deeper meaning of ideas, attitudes, and the world itself. From its origin in 1984, TED talks have touched people’s heart. TEDx events are independently organized, and licensed TED-like events organized by enthusiastic communities and organizers in line with TED’s mission ‘ideas worth spreading’. Its goal is to create a unique gathering in the community that will unleash new ideas, inspire, and inform. It provides a platform where ideas are shared openly, and connections are made through conversation. It strengthens bonds among the community through discussions and promotes harmony. The event screens TED Talks videos and invites live speakers to drive ideation and start conversations. Established in 2017, TEDxAJCE is an independently organized TEDx event with the goal of catering the global experience of TED to our community at Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kanjirapally. We yearn to showcase new perspectives and ideas of speakers from all walks of life. TEDxAJCE has an enthusiastic community of students, professionals, and the community around it, open to ideas that expand their world view. From making the first autonomous robot in the country to his latest creation, a Tesla coil, he has been inspiring us for more than three decades. He has shown us degrees don’t build things but passion does.

So in our third edition, we decided to go the route that would be the hardest and the most redeeming to tread.
